We Need Your Help

Last Year, the Nunda Ambulance Service, a divison of the Nunda Fire Depratment responded to over 500 calls in Nunda, Portage, and surrounding towns. 

We are looking for people who are willing to give of their time to help others in their community. 

We need your help in making sure that we have the personnel to continue servicing our area.

We have a need for new members to support our community.

Besides a fireman driver, we have three basic positions within the Nunda Volunteer Ambulance Service, The following is a summary of each position and an estimated amount of time ( Training ) required to complete each of the respective positions:

  • Basic First Aid (RTE or Crew Member) - Training takes about 25 hours.  This includes CPR training and is provided by instructers within the NAS.
  • Certified First Responder (NYS CFR) - Requires formal New York State Certification as an CFR. The State course is approximately 90 hours of instruction. 
  • EMT Basic - (NYS EMT-B) - Requires formal New York State Certification as an EMT. The State course is approximately 120 hours of instruction. 
    • The Nunda Ambulance Service requires that any person wishing to advance to a higher level must first participate as a crew member.
If you can give us approximately 8 hours a month, you will become an active member and an important link in our drive to assist those in need.
